Installation Engineer

Bytronic is the leading vision automation team in the UK. We help manufacturers and logistics businesses to automate and improve their processes. We achieve this through intelligent machine vision and high-speed bar code reading.

We are looking for a number of Installation Engineers to install and commission manufacturing vision systems and high speed product identification readers, throughout the UK and Europe. Full training will be provided.

Our typical work

Every day our systems are automatically:

  • Using Robotic 3D vision systems to accurately locate, measure and ID vehicle body panels for one of the UK leading premium off road vehicles
  • Reading millions of parcel bar codes at high speeds giving logistics and e-commerce businesses complete traceability and allowing them to deliver on the same day
  • Checking that the packaging on ice-cream lollies is correctly sealed using thermal cameras
Cognex LPI status

We work with Aston Martin, Jaguar Land Rover, Unilever, AB InBev, Heineken, Proctor and Gamble and other major brands. Our vision systems can be found in factories across the UK, Europe and the World.

Key responsibilities

Working as part of a team, install and commission manufacturing vision systems and high speed product identification readers, throughout the UK and Europe. The role will include both mechanical installation of frames and hardware, and electrical installation of vision and bar code readers with their supporting equipment.

Projects typically last several days, and candidates must be available to work away from home during the week – accommodation and food is provided.

Candidates will be formally trained both here in the UK and in Germany.

Knowledge, skills, and experience

Essential

  • Minimum BTEC Level 3 in an Engineering discipline
  • Excellent language & communication skills
  • Ability to work with own initiative and as a part of a team
  • Excellent PC skills, familiar with most MS Office products.
  • Clean driving licence and passport
  • Willing to work across the UK and Europe and away from home during the week
  • Own vehicle

Preferred      

  • HND/HNC/BTEC in Mechatronics/Mechatronic engineering
